One installer, six editions. The BricsCAD package for macOS bundles Shape, Lite, Pro, Mechanical, BIM and Ultimate under a single download — a pragmatic approach that lets the same installation serve a detail drafter, a structural engineer, and a product designer without extra steps.
What it covers: from flat plans to parametric solids
BricsCAD handles two broad territories. The first is 2D drafting — precisely dimensioned floor plans, sections and schematics, built with tools familiar to anyone who has worked in a DWG environment. The second is 3D modelling, where the Pro and Mechanical editions add direct modelling and assembly tools, and BIM extends the canvas to building-scale information models. The Lite edition strips things back to essentials; Ultimate gathers everything into one workspace.
Compatibility: speaking the same language as AutoCAD
The application reads and writes DWG files natively, and it goes further than file-format parity. Custom menus, toolbars, scripts and even object snaps written for AutoCAD can be carried across — a detail that matters in studios where templates and tool palettes have been refined over years. The interface ships in Russian and English, and the current build runs on Intel Macs from macOS 10.15 through to Sonoma.
